"I would like to keep daily journal of Jim Curtain, as he graduated from SCHS. I also would like the students to be able to ask questions and get answers first hand from the team. We talk about Everest in both Earth/Space and Physical Science. I was brainstorming ideas and thought I could do so many different lessons from various subject areas. Some students ideas are the following: Do you need O2? How much insulation do you need on your body? Is it hard to breathe? Is it exciting? Why are you climbing it? How much gear do you need? How long does it take? How do you go the bathroom? Is it harder to climb up or down? Where do you sleep? Any different types of habitats/ living things on the mountain? Do your toes get cold? How many times do you have to stop to let your body get use to the altitude? What do you eat? What happens if you get sick or break a bone? Are you afraid of dying up there? Here are just a sampling of questions I asked my kids."
